We have been spending oodles (yes, I used the word oodles) of time working with David to teach him how to sit and how to reach for things. Unfortuantely, it is kind of difficult to explain to a 6 month old that he has to be balanced before he can sit on his own. Even more difficult seems to be the instruction that just because something is almost within reach doesn't necessarily mean it is within your grasp (as we have learned through numerous post-face plant crying fits).
Balance. If only more people truly understood what it means. It is so easy in life to see something that is just within reach. It is even easier to try overextending ourselves to make it to whatever that "thing" may be.

Last night I watched a bit of a show called, "Tee it up with Tiger". In it, Tiger talked about how his father explained incredibly complex things about golf when Tiger was only 3-4 years old (I hope I can do this with David one day). As is true about so many things in life, the core of his father's teachings eventually boiled down to balance and practice.
While I am quite certain David is in fact a baby genius, here is hope about what is to come. So many people have taken face plants lately. Let's see if we can learn balance through practice and move forward. Afterall, David isn't quite 6 months old yet, and he pretty much has this figured out! Good job David, we are so proud of you! How about you Wall Street, government, auto industry?

Gosh is he getting big! I was just uploading some other pictures from your last blog to my Sansa Fuze and thought I would check your blog again to see if there was anything new and Wala! More pictures of him! I especially think he looks like Pete in the drooly pictures (ha, ha). Glad his surgery went well today. Sure wish he was here so we could squeeze and cuddle him! Hopefully soon!
Take care and thanks for the pics!
